A funding strategist helps organizations of all types identify, pursue, and align the right funding opportunities with their goals, priorities, and capacity. Unlike a role focused only on writing applications, a funding strategist looks at the bigger picture – what opportunities make sense, how they fit within operations or long-term plans and what is needed to compete effectively. 

A funding strategist may help with opportunity research, funding alignment, proposal development, partnerships, timelines, and overall planning so that organizations can pursue funding in a more intentional and sustainable way. 

Awarded projects have included vehicles, capital and infrastructure improvements, manufacturing equipment, court and criminal justice initiatives, alternative sentencing and reentry programs, school safety efforts, community-based initiatives, employee health and wellness programs, staffing support, research and development initiatives, tax incentives and abatements, and specialized law enforcement equipment such as body armor, body-worn cameras, tasers, investigative tools, and K-9 related equipment.
